Day 1: Monday, October 16, 2017:
Focus: Arrival, Registration, & Kick-Off of the Centennial Trip Celebrations!


• Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, assistance provided by an Ayelet Representative
• Transfer to the Royal Beach Hotel in Tel Aviv for Check-In
• Registration for the Centennial Trip at our hotel
• Welcome Dinner & festive program at our hotel

Day 2: Tuesday, October 17, 2017:
Focus: Ancient Israel & CHW's Northern Projects

• Breakfast at our hotel
• Visit the CHW Terry Schwarzfeld Ottawa Daycare in Akko
• Lunch at the renowned Chef's restaurant, Uri Buri (kosher style menu) Winner of Trip Advisor's "Best Restaurant in the Middle East 2016"
• Visit the city of Akko, where we explore the Crusader-era fortifications, the Citadel, British Prison, and learn about the current challenges the city faces as a mixed Jewish/Arab city
• We drive north to Haifa and enjoy a gorgeous panoramic view from Mt. Carmel
• Visit and dinner at CHW Nahalal Youth Village

• Meet with successful entrepreneur and CHW Netanya Tech graduate Adi. Owner of Anita, a popular and quickly growing international chain of gelaterias, Adi, with his former teacher and mentor, Nurit Peled, will be on hand to meet with you to share his story, and some of his delicious gelato
• Enjoy the balance of the day at leisure in Tel Aviv

Day 4: Thursday, October 19, 2017:
Focus: Assaf Harofeh Medical Center & Reception Hosted by CHW Netanya Technological High School

Day 5: Friday, October 20, 2017:
Focus: Time to Relax: Wine & Dine (Farewell to 5-Day Trip participants)

• Check-Out of the Royal Beach Hotel
• Departure from Tel Aviv
• Visit Barkan Winery for a tour of this award-winning modern winery. Enjoy wine tasting, followed by lunch at the winery
• Check-In to Cramim Resort & Spa & orientation upon arrival

• Time to relax before Shabbat

Day 6: Saturday, October 21, 2017:
Focus: Shabbat & Leisure Day

      o    Optional Tour 1: Walking tour of Kibbutz Kiryat Anavim, including the historic military cemetery and the refet (Dairy Cowshed). No additional cost
     o    Optional Tour 2: Visit to Har Adar, named Radar Hill, for the World War II British anti-air radar military installation for the protection of Jerusalem. The installation was handed over to the Jordanian Arab Legion on May 10, 1948, prior to the second phase of the War of Independence. 23 attempts by the Palmach's Harel Brigade to conquer it failed. Continue to Al-Qastal, a key position on the Jaffa-Jerusalem road, used by Arab forces to attack Jewish relief convoys. We hike Sataf in the Jerusalem Hills and explore its ancient agricultural terraces. No additional cost
     o   Optional Tour 3: Visit Masada and Dead Sea. Additional cost applies

• Upon arrival in Jerusalem, we stop to recite a special “shehecheyanu” blessing overlooking the City of Gold
• Meet Anat Hoffman, Director and founding member of Women of the Wall, and the Israel Religious Action Center, for an update on some of the societal struggles that Israel is grappling with in defining the type of nation it will become in the future
• Tour the Old City where we explore the Jewish Quarter and the Western Wall
• Lunch in the Jewish Quarter together
• Tour of the Israel Museum where we visit two of the main exhibits in the Archeological Wing and the Judaica Collection
• Check-In to The David Citadel Hotel & relax until dinner
• Dinner together and High Profile Speaker Program

Day 8: Monday, October 23, 2017:
Focus: Healing & Technology in our Jewish Homeland

• Visit Mobileye, one of Israel's leading global technology companies, to experience Israeli technical achievement and ingenuity firsthand, including driver-less cars
• Enjoy dinner together at one of the hip local restaurants

Day 9: Tuesday, October 24, 2017:
Focus: Experience Life as a Soldier in the IDF

• Breakfast at our hotel
• Army Interaction - Enjoy interacting with IDF soldiers and navigate through the desert while learning Krav Maga (Israeli Martial Arts) followed by an exciting hands-on equipment demonstration (located near Jerusalem)
• Lunch at an army base with soldiers and commanders
• Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon on your own in Jerusalem

Day 10: Wednesday, October 25, 2017:

Optional Tour 4: Bike Tour of the Judean Hills Day #6
Spend a day biking through wide valleys endless vineyards of the Judean Hills, on a tour led by DuVine Cycling & Adventure Co. Studded with archaeological and historical sites traversed by great biking roads, the Judean Hills set the scene for a fantastic day of biking, complete with a picnic lunch and a wine tasting at a local winery. Cost includes lunch and taxi transfer.
Visit to Har Adar Day #6
Enjoy a tour of Har Adar, also called Radar Hill, for the World War II British military installation which had anti-air radar for the protection of Jerusalem. The installation was handed over to the Jordanian Arab Legion on May 10, 1948, prior to the second phase of the War of Independence. There were 23 failed attempts by the Palmach’s Harel Brigade to conquer it. It was finally captured in the Six-Day War. Continue to Al-Qastal, a key position on the Jaffa-Jerusalem road, used by Arab forces to attack Jewish relief convoys. Following this, we will hike Sataf in the Jerusalem Hills and explore its ancient agricultural terraces. Visit the Scroll of Fire, one of the most beautiful sculptures in Israel; located in the single largest memorial to the Holocaust in the world. The memorial, known as The Martyrs Forest, is an important work, rich in detail and history. It tells the story of the rebirth of the nation from the Holocaust up to the Six-Day War. The sculpture commands a spectacular view of its surroundings. The tour will begin at 11:00AM. It is a four to five hour tour. Participants will depart from the hotel, by bus and with a guide, and return to the hotel by 4:00PM. Please note that there is a lot of walking, roughly 2.5 – 3KM. Group will stop for lunch - cost is on own. For those interested in this tour as well as spa treatments, there is time to accommodate both.
Optional Tour 3: Trip to Masada & the Dead Sea Day #6
Participants will depart via the Judean Hills towards the Dead Sea, the lowest place on Earth. Drive past the Qumeran caves where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. Continue along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada. There we will learn about the heroic story of the Jewish fighters. Ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the Zealots of the first century made their last stand against the Romans. View the remains of the walls, palaces, synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors, Roman baths, and other findings. We will then descend by cable car. Continue to the Dead Sea; enjoy the opportunity to float and cover yourself with the mineral rich, therapeutic Dead Sea mud. We will then return to the hotel. Participants will depart from the hotel at 7:30AM. You will be accompanied by a guide. Please note that it is highly recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, a bathing suit, and to bring a towel. Participants will return to the hotel around 4:30PM. Please note, lunch is not included in the price; however, there will be time to stop and purchase lunch. For those interested in this tour as well as the spa treatment, there is time to accommodate both.
Walking Tour of Kibbutz Anavim Day #6
Enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic Kibbutz Anavim and the refet (dairy cowshed.) Kibbutz Anavim was the first kibbutz established in the Judean Hills. It was built at the beginning of the last century and was purchased from the neighbouring Arab village of Abu Gosh. The kibbutz was a command centre during the War of Independence and of the Harel Brigade. The dairy cowshed, the main building at the entrance to the kibbutz, was built in 1920. Following the tour of Kibbutz Anavim, we will visit the military cemetery that is the resting place of brave heroes who fell in action. We will return to the hotel via the vineyards of the kibbutz. The tour will begin at 11:00AM. It is a two hour walking tour. Participants will depart from the hotel, with a guide, and return to the hotel by 2:00PM. Please note that there is a lot of walking, roughly 2.5 – 3KM. Lunch available at hotel. For those interested in this tour as well as the spa treatment, there is time to accommodate both.
