Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Wednesday, February 15, 2017

• Afternoon departure from the Capital District by bus to connect with our flight in New York.

Day 2: Thursday, February 16, 2017

• Late afternoon arrival in Israel…meet our guide and drive to Jerusalem.

• Welcome Ceremony - We stop atop the Haas Promenade, where we recite a special “Sh'hekiyanu” blessing as we look out over the City of Gold.

• Afternoon: Check into our hotel

• Evening: Dinner together

Overnight: Jerusalem

Day 3: Friday, February 17, 2017: Jerusalem Today

• Morning: Breakfast at our hotel

• Jewish Quarter to the Kotel - We begin with a fascinating tour of the Western Wall Tunnels stretching under the Old City. Continue to the Davidson Center where we learn about Jerusalem's ancient past, and explore the Southern excavations.

• Afternoon: Next we continue with a tour of the Jewish Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem and explore the Cardo, an ancient marketplace where you can still shop today.

• Continue to Machane Yehuda to stroll the Market and enjoy an Israeli Falafel lunch as we watch Israelis shopping for Shabbat.

• Evening: Kabbalat Shabbat & dinner together.

Day 4: Saturday, February 18, 2017 - Shabbat in Jerusalem…

• There is no better place to spend Shabbat than in the Holy City itself!

• Morning: Breakfast & Shabbat Services…Options abound

• Afternoon: Shabbat lunch together at Fuchsberg Center with a special program with Rabbi Sam Shor as we walk through Jerusalem.

• Evening: Group Havdalah together with Rabbis from the Capital District in the courtyard in front of the Leonardo Plaza Hotel

• We enjoy a fun and informative Scavenger Hunt with Sam Shor through the Cinema City, Jerusalem's largest entertainment space, featuring themed theaters, museums, activities and an indoor mall, giving us a better sense of the area, and a chance to interact with local residents.

• Dinner (on own) this evening.

Day 5: Sunday, February 19, 2017 - Jerusalem

• Morning: Breakfast at our hotel

• This morning we uncover the secrets of the Ayalon Institute, where an underground ammunition factory that played a pivotal role in Israel's fight for Independence at the end of the British Mandate.

• Afternoon: We travel to Beit Guvrin, where we participate in a “hands on” archaeological dig, allowing us the opportunity to unearth remnants from Israel's ancient past.

• Visit Machane Yehuda, Jerusalem's outdoor marketplace, filled with foods of every variety. Together we'll take part in the “shuk bites” program, allowing us to enjoy a varied taste of the marketplace in a fun and new way.

Day 6: Monday, February 20, 2017 - Eshkol

• Morning: Breakfast at our hotel.

• Depart Jerusalem, traveling south toward Eshkol.

• Afternoon: Enjoy the day in Eshkol (programming by Federation)

• Morning: Shabbat Shalom!

• Day at leisure in Eshkol.

• Evening: Havdalah together.

• We drive to Tel Aviv to meet others from the Community Mission for farewell dinner together.

• Travel to the airport for our flight back to the United States.

Day 11: Sunday, February 26, 2017 - Return Home
