Tour Itinerary:

Day 1, Thursday, October 27, 2016: DEPARTURE

• Depart JFK on our overnight flight to Israel

Day 2, Friday, October 28, 2016: WELCOME TO ISRAEL AND JERUSALEM

• Early afternoon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, with assistance by an Ayelet representative - Welcome Home!
• Transfer to Jerusalem
• Upon arrival in Jerusalem, we stop atop Mt. Scopus to recite a special “Sh'hekiyanu!” blessing overlooking the City of Gold
• Check into our hotel
• Enjoy a welcome traditional Shabbat dinner

Day 3, Saturday, October 29, 2016: SHABBAT SHALOM!

• Breakfast at our hotel
• Free morning for Shabbat services or just to relax
• Walking tours (one of the following unless we are at more than one bus then we can offer a choice):
     o Walk through the old Templar Colony - German Colony (established in 1873) of Jerusalem and learn the history of the Templars of Jerusalem - near and around Emek Refaim Street
     o Enter the Old City for a guided visit through the Christian Quarter, including part of the Via Delorosa and the Church of the Holy Seplechre.
     o Guided walk through Yemin Moshe using the Poetry of Yehudah Amichai as a guide.
• Afternoon briefing by Colonel (Res.) Miri Eisin, a former International Media Advisor to the Prime Minister of Israel and a former Israeli government spokesperson.
• Havdalah with Barbara Goldstein on the rooftop of our hotel overlooking the Old City
• Free evening in Jerusalem - enjoy a stroll along Ben Yehuda Street or through Emek Refaim Street

Day 4, Sunday, October 30, 2016: JERUSALEM

• Breakfast at our hotel
• Visit the Yad Vashem complex, the Jewish National Memorial to the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust, including:
     o The Avenue of the Righteous
     o The new Historical Museum
     o The Children's Memorial

RETURNEES:
• Visit the Yad Vashem Archive and with an archivist, where we explore some of the newly found materials relating to places, people and events connected to the Holocaust
• Alternative program at the Yad Vashem complex are possible including:
    o The Art Museum
    o The Holocaust Film Archive
    o The Learning Center
• Lunch (on own)
• Visit to Pico - PICO was created by Jerusalem based entrepreneurs who want to share their knowledge, experience, drive and innovation, built up over thirty years of international business extending from the traditional family business, to international finance and emerging markets as well as some of Israel's premier valued companies
• Free evening

Day 5, Monday, October 31, 2016: HADASSAH IN-DEPTH, JERUSALEM - ANCIENT AND MODERN

• Breakfast at our hotel
• Speaker (to be determined)
• HMO visit: Visit the new Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower and meet Hadassah doctors. 
• Visit the Ir David Excavations just outside the Old City walls, where we wander through the carefully preserved archeological excavations dating back to the time of King David
• Continue to the new Western Wall Tunnels including exciting new excavations
• Walk along the Cardo with time to shop at Hurva Square
• Free time for shopping or relaxation on own
• Free evening

Day 6, Tuesday, November 1, 2016: EXPLORING THE COAST

• Breakfast at our hotel
• Visit Zichron Yaakov - stroll the streets, browse through the shops & cafes of this charming European style village. We'll also visit the Nili Spy Museum in town.
• Visit Hadassah's Meir Shfeya Youth Village, where we interact with the kids and staff and enjoy lunch with them.
• This afternoon we'll tour the Hula Valley Nature Preserve, where millions of migrating birds come to rest and eat each year. Enjoy a surrey or golf cart ride through the heart of this beautiful and bucolic scene.
• Balance of afternoon is at leisure to explore or relax and enjoy the kibbutz spa.
• Dinner together this evening at our kibbutz.
• Meet with a kibbutz speaker with Hadassah connection.

Day 7, Wednesday, November 2, 2016: FACING THE BORDER

• Breakfast at our kibbutz.
• Visit the Helicopter Memorial with a former Army Commander.
• Continue to Mount Hermon, The Eyes of the Country, for an overview of the Israeli-Syrian border and a look into Syria (security permitting)
• We enjoy a chocolate workshop with one of Israel's top chocolatiers.
• Afternoon at the Gamla Nature Reserve, often called the “Masada of the Galilee”.
• Visit the Golan Winery and enjoy a wine tour and tasting
• Dinner tonight at the Dubrovnin farms or a winery nearby

Day 8, Thursday, November 3, 2016: REACHING OUT IN THE GALILEE

• Breakfast at our kibbutz.
• Enjoy a drive along the Lebanese border, stopping at Kibbutz Malkia, a strategic overlook, where we will meet with the IDF unit on the border and the kibbutz security personnel to learn about the steps they take to protect a small frontier community.
• Visit a spice factory and an olive press facility. Both are major industries in the area.
• This afternoon we drive down the coast to Caesarea and visit to the interactive museum and the Ralli Museums.
• Check into our hotel.
• Evening free - Continue to Sarona to visit the complex and enjoy a gourmet dinner or a cultural event (options and costs will be advised in August)

Day 9, Friday, November 4, 2016: ISRAELI PROGRESS THROUGH THE DECADES

• Breakfast at our hotel
• Meeting with young entrepreneur Rony Rozen to discuss her story, as well as Hi-Tech innovation in this Start-Up nation.
• Visit the Rabin Center, tracing the history of the last century through the life of Yitzhak Rabin OR for first timers visit the Palmach Museum
• Enjoy the entertainers, artists, shop owners, colorful vendors & craftspeople who bring the streets to life on Nachalat Binyamin.
• Guided walking tour “From Neve Zedek to Apple” (Prime Sense) - The story of Tel Aviv, guided walk through Neve Zedek and what was Ahuzat Bayit, exploring the origins of the city of Tel Aviv, its people and places, through to Tel Aviv's White City Bauhaus center. Enjoy a culinary tour that delights all the senses, through the Carmel Market
• Shabbat Dinner in hotel in Tel- Aviv.

Day 10, Saturday, November 5, 2016: SHABBAT IN TEL-AVIV

• Breakfast at our hotel
• Free morning for Shabbat services or just to relax
• A special moving Havdalah ceremony on the beach with Hadassah representatives.
• Free time to relax before we depart to the airport for our overnight flight home.

Day 11, Sunday, November 6, 2016: ARRIVE HOME

• We arrive back home
