Day 1, Sunday, June 3, 2018: BEGIN OUR JOURNEY

• Depart the United States on our overnight flight to Israel.

Day 2, Monday, June 4, 2018: WELCOME TO ISRAEL!

• Mid-afternoon arrival in Israel at Ben Gurion Airport.
• Receive greetings and assistance by an Ayelet Tours representative.
• Transfer to Tel Aviv and begin with a walking tour of Jaffa.
• We transfer to our hotel for check in.
• Welcome dinner at Maganda in the Yemenite quarter.

Day 3, Tuesday, June 5, 2018: THE ORIGINS OF A MODERN NATION

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• Our first stop is Independence Hall, site of the signing of Israel's Declaration of Independence.
• Visit the Palmach Museum, where we "join up" with the paramilitary forces from Israel's pre-statehood days.
• Continue to Nachalat Binyamin where entertainers, artists, and craftspeople bring the streets to life in the Carmel Market.

Day 4, Wednesday, June 6, 2018: TRAVELING NORTH

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• Drive north to Caesarea, once the Roman capital of the region. See the excavations of the crusaders' city, the aqueduct and the amphitheater that has been restored as a concert venue.
• Travel to Akko, where we explore the Crusader-era fortifications and British Prison as we learn about this historically important port.
• We continue with a visit to Rosh Hanikra, where we view the amazing chalk cliff grottoes that have been carved out by the sea over time.
• Continue to our Kibbutz in the Galilee.
• Dinner at our kibbutz.

Day 5, Thursday, June 7, 2018: MYSTICISM AND THE GOLAN

• Breakfast at our kibbutz.
• Morning jeep tour of the Golan Heights, passing by old Syrian bunkers along the way.
• Take in the views stretching far into Syria from atop Har Bental.
• Continue to the Golan Winery for a tour and select wine tasting.
• Next visit the mystical city of Safed, where we view the beautiful ancient synagogues and walk through the Artists Quarter.
• Experience the Kabbalah of Glassblowing, including a live Glassblowing demonstration with deep and mystical Kabbalistic insights, stories and explanations.
• We end our day kayaking on the Jordan River.
• Dinner at our kibbutz.

Day 6, Friday, June 8, 2018: NATURE AND SPIRITUALITY

• Breakfast at our kibbutz.
• Drive south on our way to Jerusalem, stopping in Beit Shean and Beit Alpha to view the ancient ruins and intricate mosaics.
• On arrival in Jerusalem, we walk through the outdoor market at Machane Yehuda to take in the sights and sounds of Jerusalemites busily shopping in preparation for Shabbat.
• Check into our hotel.
• Continue to the Haas Promenade for a special “Shehecheyanu” blessing with challah and wine as we look out over the City of Gold.
• We greet Shabbat with the people of Jerusalem at the Western Wall.
• Shabbat dinner together this evening at our hotel.

Day 7, Saturday, June 9, 2018: SHABBAT SHALOM!

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• Morning at leisure to attend Shabbat services (Options provided).
• This afternoon, we join together for a tour of the Old City's Jewish, Christian & Arab Quarter.
• Enjoy a free evening for dinner (on own) as Jerusalem returns to life after the calm of Shabbat.

Day 8, Sunday, June 10, 2018: CONNECTING TO THE PAST

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• This morning, we visit Yad L'Kashish, Lifeline for the Old, where we visit the elderly artisans and see them working on their crafts.
• We continue to the foundation stone of the City - Ir David, the City of David. Explore the amazing archaeological wonder of Ir David, a meticulously preserved site dating back to the time of King David, including a walk through the dry section of the Hezekiah Water Tunnels.
• Next we go to the bunkers at Ammunition Hill, the official museum symbolizing the liberation and reunification of Jerusalem. Its new multimedia film helps visitors better understand the events and battles of 1967.
• Our last stop this evening is the Western Wall Tunnels.

Day 9, Monday, June 11, 2018: JERUSALEM

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• We visit the military cemetery of Mt. Herzl, where our guide shares personal reflections of Israel's military history.
• Continue to the Herzl Museum, where we learn about the life and work of the great Zionist visionary
• Next we stop for a family exploration of Yad Vashem's Holocaust Memorial.
• We drive by Israel's parliament, the Knesset, where we have a photo opportunity by the outdoor bronze menorah sculpture.
• Drive by the nearby Supreme Court, where we see the ancient mosaics, recovered from the synagogue at Hamat Gadar.
• We continue to Hadassah Hospital to view the amazing Chagall windows.

Day 10, Tuesday, June 12, 2018: MASADA & THE DEAD SEA

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• Travel to the Dead Sea basin, where we visit Masada. Here we view King Herod's palace and fortress, and hear the story of the Jewish Zealots' rebellion against the approaching Roman armies.
• Hike through the desert oasis of Ein Gedi, where we discover the hidden waterfalls.
• We stop at the Dead Sea, where we have time to enjoy lunch and the mud baths and an unsinkable swim in the salty waters. Refresh in one of the fresh water beach showers
• For an authentic biblical desert experience, we enjoy a camel ride and dinner in the wilderness at Eretz Beresheet.
• We pass the Qumran caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered as we return to Jerusalem.

Day 11, Wednesday, June 13, 2018: DIGGING INTO HISTORY

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• This morning, we have time for shopping in the Cardo.
• We continue with a visit to the Ayalon Institute where we discover the underground ammunition factory that played a pivotal role in Israel's fight for independence.
• This afternoon, we travel to Beit Guvrin, where we participate in a “hands on” archaeological dig, allowing us the opportunity to unearth remnants from Israel's ancient past.
• Enjoy a special farewell dinner together this evening.
• Transfer to the airport for our flight back to the United States.

Day 12, Thursday, June 14, 2018: ARRIVE HOME!

• We arrive home.

Day 13, Friday, June 15, 2018: PETRA - THE EIGHTH WONDER OF THE WORLD

• Breakfast at our hotel
• We cross the border into Jordan and begin our full day tour of Petra, the Red Rose City. Explore the Nabatean City (as seen in Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade)
• Walk through the Siq and view the ancient temples
• Discover the famous Treasury, the Roman Theater, and more at this, the Eighth Wonder of the World
• Return to Israel and enjoy Shabbat dinner together.

Day 14, Saturday, June 16, 2018: EXPLORE EILAT/DEPARTURE

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• Enjoy the day at leisure in Eilat - Optional on own activity suggestions include visiting the Underwater Aquarium, OR enjoying a barbecue lunch and snorkeling cruise on the Red Sea, OR just relaxing poolside or seaside
• Night flight to Tel Aviv to connect with our flight back to the United States

Day 15, Sunday, June 17, 2018: ARRIVE HOME
