Tour Overview:

The spell of the Pacific Northwest is cast upon every visitor as coffee, gardens, wine, and waterfalls fulfill your sense of adventure & exploration. Seattle, the northernmost city in the US, is made up of many neighborhoods: eclectic, artsy, outdoorsy and posh. From the quirky character of Seattle's waterfront to the offbeat area of Freemont, there is something for everyone to enjoy - culinary flares, plush gardens, waterfalls and more!

Meanwhile big city excitement and small-town charm make Portland - aka “the City of Roses” - a must-see favorite destination of the west. We might even get to meet the Freemont Troll.
• After free time for lunch, we will ascend to an observation deck for a dazzling view of the city (and perhaps a beverage or two), followed by admission to the incredible Chihuly Gardens & Glass exhibit. • Late this afternoon, we allow for a little bit of free time to head back to the Pike Place Market area or another of Seattle's inviting neighborhoods.

Day 3: Thursday, July 7, 2022: SNOQUALMIE FALLS

• This morning, we head out of town to Snoqualmie Falls, one of Washington State's most breathtaking sites. The 268-foot waterfall located on the Snoqualmie River is known internationally for its appearance in the cult television series Twin Peaks. We'll explore small town living, venture on an easy 1-2 mile nature trail hike to the falls and cap our visit with a delicious lunch.
• Returning to Seattle this afternoon, we offer the choice of a visit to the unique Gasworks Park and the Fremont Area of Seattle or the Museum of Flight, an incredible collection of aircraft, spacecraft, artifacts and stories that embody the past, present and future of flight. One of many highlights includes a visit to the inside of a retired Air Force One plane and a supersonic Concord.

Day 4: Friday, July 8, 2022: PORTLAND, OREGON

• Early grab and go breakfast and departure for our scenic Amtrak Cascades train to Portland.
• We arrive mid-morning into Portland and begin our unique custom sightseeing tour.
• The area's history, culture and current events come alive as we explore the cultural diversity of this eclectic city. Known as the “City of Roses” a visit to Portland wouldn't be complete without a visit to Washington Park and The International Rose Test Garden. Here, roses have be cultivated since 1917 when landscapers in Europe feared that these plants would be destroyed in the bombing of WW I. This signature landmark is home to over 600 species of roses that are grown over five acres of land. A spectacular view of Mt. Hood complements our visit.
• Next, we discover the cultural scene, with an overview of the vibrant Pearl District, Nob Hill and Pioneer Square. Along our way we visit the grounds of the Pittock Mansion and learn the story of Portland's transformation from pioneer town to modern, industrialized city through the history and legacy of one its most influential families.
• Late this afternoon, we check into our well-appointed downtown Portland hotel.
• We come together before sunset for a short and sweet Shabbat Kiddish.
• “Follow the leader” dinner option in downtown Portland, or feel free to make plans on your own.
• After dinner, choose to join us on a downtown Ghost Tour. Find out just how haunted Portland is at one of the most ghost-infested places in the city.

• We will then continue around to the south side of Mt. Hood, visiting Timberline Lodge, notable for serving as the exterior of the Overlook Hotel in the 1980s classic The Shining. “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy…”
• We continue to Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon, for a spectacular scenic visit, followed by a stop in the town of Hood River for lunch on own and souvenir shopping.
