Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Saturday, May 11, 2019: DEPARTURE:

• We depart the United States on our flight to Prague.

Day 2: Sunday, May 12, 2019: WELCOME TO PRAGUE!

• We arrive in Prague, the Czech capital, also known as “the City of One Thousand Spires” with its Baroque churches, promenades, parks and ancient city walls. Upon arrival, we are met by an Ayelet Tours representative.
• We check in to our hotel.
• This afternoon, we meet to explore Prague and stroll across the Charles Bridge and into the Center Square to see the Astronomical Clock.
• We enjoy a welcome dinner together this evening.

Day 3: Monday, May 13, 2019: JEWISH PRAGUE

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• This morning, we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Jewish interest sites, with a visit to the Old City to view the Josefov, Prague's Jewish town with its Old Town Hall, the Alt-Neu, Pinkas, Maisel and Spanish synagogues, the Jewish Cemetery and the State Jewish Museum.
• We break for lunch on own.
• This afternoon, we enjoy a guided tour of the 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, founded around 880. The Prague castle is considered to be the largest coherent castle complex in the world. While there, we view the magnificent St. Vitus' Cathedral.
• We return to our hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure and dinner on own.

Day 4: Tuesday, May 14, 2019: TEREZIN - PLZEN

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• Today, we travel to Terezin, the former “model” Nazi concentration camp. We visit the fortress, Jewish cemetery, museum, the hidden synagogue, the Memorial Monument, and the town itself. A boxed lunch is included today.
• We return to Prague.
• This evening, we set sail on a dinner cruise.

Day 5: Wednesday, May 15, 2019: PRAGUE TO VIENNA

• Early morning breakfast and check out of our hotel.
• Today, we travel to Vienna.
• Upon arrival, we break for lunch on our own.
• Next, we enjoy a walking tour along the Ringstrasse and through the Historic Center, where we view major landmarks, including the Hofburg Imperial Palace (former seat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire), St. Stephens Cathedral, and other vivid reminders of the city's imperial history.
• We check in to our hotel.
• Tonight, we enjoy dinner together.

Day 6: Thursday, May 16, 2019: JEWISH VIENNA

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• This morning, we visit the newly opened Memorial Museum “Für das Kind” (“For the Child” in German). The first ever museum dedicated to the Kindertransport, this modest museum is dedicated to the stories of the people who helped organize the safe passage of approximately 10,000 children from Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia and Poland to England between 1938 and 1939.
• We enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vienna's Jewish interest sites, including Judenplatz Holocaust Memorial, the Jewish Community Center, the Jewish Museum at Palace Eskels, and the Stadttemple Synagogue, the only synagogue to survive the war.
• We break for lunch on own.
• Remainder of the afternoon at leisure and dinner on own.
• This evening, we enjoy a concert featuring the music of Mozart and Strauss.

Day 7: Friday, May 17, 2019: VIENNA TO BUDAPEST

• Breakfast and check out of our hotel.
• This morning, we travel to Budapest. Situated on the opposite banks of the Danube River, the former cities of Buda and Pest are linked by a series of graceful bridges.
• Upon our arrival, we view the moving Shoes on the Danube Memorial.
• We check in to our hotel and refresh.
• This evening, we join together for Kabbalat Shabbat at Dohany Synagogue, followed by Shabbat dinner at our hotel with members of the Jewish community.

Day 8: Saturday, May 18, 2019: SHABBAT SHALOM!

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• Spend the morning at leisure attending Shabbat services or discovering Budapest on own.
• This afternoon, we enjoy a panoramic tour, including the Parliament, the Royal Palace, and the Castle Hill area. We also visit the Fisherman's Bastion, Matthias Church of our Lady (Coronation Church), Hero's Square and Gellert Hill.
• Enjoy the evening at leisure and dinner on own.

Day 9: Sunday, May 19, 2019: JEWISH BUDAPEST

• Breakfast at our hotel.
• We begin our day at the Raoul Wallenberg memorial statue, and then visit the Dohany Synagogue and Jewish Museum, the 2nd largest synagogue in Europe, and continue on to the Jewish cemetery. We also stop and visit the Kazinczy Street Orthodox Synagogue.
• Next, we head to the area of the International Ghetto, where Moshe Krausz, together with foreign diplomats Carl Lutz, Raoul Wallenberg and others set up safe houses in 1944, thereby saving the lives of over 100,000 Jews. We examine the role of the “Righteous Gentile” in saving Jews during the Shoah.
• This afternoon, we visit the Budapest JCC as well as the Moishe House and one of the local yeshivas.
• Tonight, we enjoy a typical folklore Hungarian dinner as our fun-filled farewell.

Day 10: Monday, May 20, 2019: DEPARTURE

• Breakfast and check out of our hotel.
• Depart to the airport to catch our international flight home.
